God, the creator of everything. He proved this by doing many extraordinary and truly supernatural acts. These acts went far beyond scientific understanding or the laws of nature. According to the Bible, Jesus healed many sick people even to the point of restoring sight and deformed limbs not over time but immediately. He even brought two people who died back to life.
You may be thinking “that’s crazy – I can’t believe that,” but what if it is true? Doesn’t it really come down to that? At the pinnacle of Jesus’s time on earth He raised Himself from the dead. Thomas, one of His followers, who didn’t initially see Jesus when He came back to life after being crucified, told the followers who did see him that he wouldn’t believe unless he touched Jesus nail and spear wounds. Not that long after, Jesus came back again and allowed “doubting Thomas” to touch the lacerations He had received. The Bible explains that hundreds of people also saw Jesus alive after he had died.
If Jesus didn’t rise bodily after His death, all Christians and Christianity would be based on a lie. If He did and He is who He said He was, wouldn’t you want to know? And wouldn’t you want to know what else He had to say? If our creator came to tell us why we were created and to restore our relationship with Him, wouldn’t you be curious?
My picture includes many of the names and titles of Jesus. You’ll see that several are the same names ascribed to God in the Bible. Jesus is so much more than we can possibly imagine. He is the One that can answer all of your questions and fill the hole you’ve been trying to fill in your soul.
Before I believed, the last person I wanted to run into was a Christian who was trying to get me to believe. In fact, those people drove me farther away from God than I had been before running into them. Yes, Christians did play a role in my finally coming to believe. Mostly it was those Christians that were willing to die instead of denying Jesus. Steven, the first martyr described in the Bible, and so many others after paid that ultimate price. Let’s face it, some people may be willing to die for something they believe, but thousands over hundreds of years? I had to find out for myself. My prayer is that God would pursue you in a way that would motivate you to want to find out for yourself. There really is more to this life than you can imagine.
